| Synopsis | Available for the first time on DVD, An Innocent Man is dark and dramatic, a must-own for anyone who enjoys tense and pacey thrillers. Tom Selleck (Friends, Three Men and a Baby, Magnum P. I.) plays Jimmie Rainwood, a happy family man and a dedicated maintenance supervisor, framed for a crime he didnt commit. He is the innocent victim of two crooked narcotic cops, Detectives Parnell (David Rasche - The Big Tease) and Scalise (Richard Young - Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade) who specialise in busting drug dealers, stealing their stash and selling it back to the drug baron of the area. One day they get the wrong address, break down Jimmies door and as he comes out of the shower with a hair dyer, they think he got a gun and they shoot him. Realising theyve made a huge mistake, the cops frame him. Refusing to plea bargain, Jimmie is convicted on the perjured evidence of a police informant and is sent to jail for six years. Once behind bars, Jimmie soon realises that despite his efforts to keep himself to himself, he cannot escape the hellish violence of prison life. It is often a case of kill or be killed. Jimmie is determined to return to his family and although he benefits from the street wisdom of a convict friend named Virgil (F. Murray Abraham - Thirteen Ghosts, Finding Forrester), it is unclear whether he will survive the trials of prison life. Will he make it out alive? Will there be a way of clearing his name and proving the guilt of the crooked cops? | |
